A Legacy of Resilience
Before it became a destination, Kirsten Springs was a crossroads—where history, industry, and nature met. The land beneath your feet holds stories of hard work and perseverance.
In the late 1800s, the town flourished around the Windmill Valley Tannery, a cornerstone of local employment and regional trade. The tannery operated for over a century, and while it ceased operation in the early 2000s, its legacy remains woven into the landscape—and the spirit—of Kirsten Springs.
In fact, during early excavation of the site, remnants of the original tannery stones were discovered and preserved, now displayed in our Reflection Garden—where past meets present in a space of quiet contemplation.

Recent independent reports have raised routine questions about mineral density and organic compounds in select water basins. As a community-led organization, we take all inquiries seriously and are actively collaborating with municipal and scientific partners to ensure the continued excellence of our water systems.
